"Man is a Son of his Environment"
"Nurtured by Love" by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, the founder of the Suzuki Method, starts with the following sentence:
Oh!...Why, Japanese children can all speak Japanese!
The thought suddenly struck me with amazement.
In fact, all children throughout the world speak their native tongues with the utmost fluency.
All children everywhere in the world are brought up by a perfect educational method: their mother tongue.
For thirty years now I have been pleading with people to believe that 'All children can be well educated......and not to turn away those who drop behind in learning'.
I named my method "Talent Education"
Mother Tongue Approach
"As quickly and easily as children learn their native language, they can learn music and other areas of study without toil."
Dr. Shinichi Suzuki
Therefore, the ability to speak the ‘mother tongue’ is not inborn, but rather developed through a nurturing loving environment. Other areas like music can also be developed in the same way.
Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability that can be developed. This is the basis of the Suzuki Method.
Suzuki Philosophy
"Teaching music is not my main purpose. I want to make good citizens, noble human beings. If a child hears fine music from the day of his birth, and learns to play it himself, he develops sensitivity, discipline and endurance. He gets beautiful heart." Dr. Shinichi Suzuki
Character development forms the basis of his philosophy.
For children who learn with the Suzuki Method, through beautiful music, a high ability grows and developed them into a fine human beings.
Beautiful Tone, Beautiful Heart
Piano Lessons
Suzuki Method encourages learning together "The Student-Parent-Teacher triangle" where they all work together towards the same purpose. Parents come with the child to the lessons and also practice with them at home. They can share the happiness and satisfaction …‘We did it!’
"Every child can be educated depends on how you do it. It depends on the Parents, on the Teacher and on Oneself"

Listening
It is important that the environment in which a child is brought into is a place where music is abundant and overflowing.
By listening to great recordings everyday, repeatedly, any child will grow with rapid progress into a person with fine musical sense.
Motivation
Motivation is born by observing lessons and performing with other children, such as attending workshops and group lessons. Children and also parents could learn much from it and will motivate each other.
Tone Development
Children are encouraged to play with a good tone, listen to the tone, in order to nurture a heart that can feel beautiful tones and other people’s hearts. ‘Tonalization’ working on tone develop High sensitivity, Beautiful heart, Concentration, Technique, etc…everything is there…
Repetition
- At first, children learn a simple skill carefully and repeat it again and again. Only after they have learned it thoroughly and been able to perform it easily they should move on to the next step. This is where ability is developed.
- Revision is an important aspect of the Suzuki Method. Through constant repetition of pieces, children strengthen old skills and gain new ones.
- Ability of memorisation is developed from repetition.
