Schubert, renowned as the "king of lieder," created many masterpieces in German art songs. Despite his brief life, he expressed a distinctive personality across a wide range of works, from his youth to his final years. The impromptus in Schubert's repertoire can be considered as compositions that effortlessly adapt his art songs into piano pieces.

"Liebesträume" No. 3 in A-flat major, S.541-3, is a solo piano piece composed by the Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt (1811-1886). Originally written as lieder (art songs), Liszt later arranged the three pieces for piano when he was 39 years old, giving them the subtitle "Three Notturnos."

Composed by Frédéric Chopin at the age of 20 in 1830, this piano concerto, often referred to as his first, had its premiere with Chopin himself as the soloist.
Despite its numerical order, it was composed after the second concerto. The piece beautifully combines classical elements with Chopin's sweet and distinctive style, showcasing a balance of Polish folk simplicity.
The piano introduces itself with power and drama, quickly shifting to a sweet and poignant expression.
During this period, Chopin was romantically drawn to a soprano singer from his music academy, adding a tender touch to the melodies.
Notably, Chopin left Poland right after composing this concerto, never to return, enhancing its romantic aura.
